Got started today... disappointed in yield and test weight. Plus while unloading at the elevator that the pivot shaft on the truck box at the rear was 1/2 way out and holding on one side. Could have been a bad deal. Went to the Co-op to fix and noticed a cut in a steer tire. They helped get the 1 1/2" shaft back in and I bought a $460 tire for the truck.Yield probably 60 bushel and 34 test weight. Lots of wind to blow the light ones out.

Seems to me since we started using atrazine how many years ago we can't raise good oats. I remember back in the 60s Pa raising 100 bushel oats. Anymore 60 bushels is about all I can raise.

Hey, remember we don't farm for the money, we farm for the fun of it. lol It's been awhile since I've had a crop to brag about.

No atrazine used here. I think the 95 degree weather while the oats were heading caused the problem.
