My garden has been a struggle the past few years. I finally got the rabbits and squirrels under control in my cucumber plants. My cucumbers have been the best in a lot of years. Big beautiful plants. I make a A frame about 6 ft high out of concrete wire. The plants climb right up with a little help. Just as the cucumbers are starting to bloom. The aphid move in on the leaves. I have tried different (safe) sprays, that do work a little. What do you do for aphids? I gave up and will pick a few cucumbers for my wife to make pickles out of. In the past years she made 50-60 quarts to sell at the local craft fair. So far I have 6 quarts. Moving along to my fig tree, It has been a great year a lot of figs. I checked the tree today, the birds moved in as the figs are getting ripe. Went to home depot and got a large net. Should stop the birds, until the rats get tired chicken feed. One good thing I have no gophers this year. The way I see it, when Dad was farming he had good years, and not so good years. He never quit. Next year is another chqllenge. Stan
