A little surprise yesterday

Stopped at my local independent parts store for some self-etching primer. I don't need a lot but figured to get a quart. SUPRISE!!! $75. Opted for a spray can at 25.

last week I noticed that a steel door on the house has rust showing again where I sanded down and primed with spray can can primer just last summer. A friend got his old Chevy square body painted kast year. The paint alone was over $3,000.

yea i know what you are talking about, if i remember right about 18 months ago i redid my 1466 . the hardener was i think $198 a quart is a Shearman Williams brand.

Yea Stupid expensive now.... When I was a teenager I used to paint cars for people and I could get enough supplies (Paint, Sandpaper, etc) to paint a whole car for less than $100.00 (About 40 years ago)

I have been using Nason brand 2K urethane. It is the good chemical formulation at much lower price.

No, it's solvent based. It's mostly the acid with a dye to show where you applied it.
