There’s a 4020 that shows up at Historic Farm Days that has the nicest IH red paint job on it. It actually has the title of this thread written on the hood.
The funny part is the first time I ever saw it, it wasn’t with the JD tractors or IH either.
Just sitting in a spot with nothing else around it

They got tired of searching for it when they forgot which corn field it last broke down in.
You joke, but I remember back in the 70s, there was a dairy farm that was large for that time, had a lot of employees. A 3020 went missing. They reported it stolen and collected the insurance on it. They found it when they chopped the corn. A kid had run it out of fuel and forgot to tell anybody.

What happened to the insurance money?

Yeah insurance companies deserve no sympathy.
They won't get any from me right now, that's for absolute certain. We had to write a check for $1950 this morning for a claim that they owe without a single doubt, but that's a whole other story. We have a different insurance company now.

Could be. If that one was at Rollag in 2012. I was thinking it had straighter sheet metal, but could be wrong. That was 14 years ago!
Oh maybe not then. I took this picture last year at the show, and I also don't know if it's the same one. I know for sure there are a couple of them floating around though, saw a magazine article about one.

There was a green H or M for sale on Bismanonline quite a while ago. Hard to say, there may be a few of them out there. Or maybe several sightings of the same one!
