What happened to pickups??

I have an extended cab 2500, but it’s a plain truck otherwise. Also a unicorn.
Ended up I could buy a new work truck model cheaper than I could find a 2500 used, because everything on the used market was loaded with options.

By the way...
I stopped by the Chevy dealer yesterday and asked the price of a new plain jane 2500HD, 4X4 work truck + towing package.
It would be special order - maybe take up to 3 months to get.
Would have the new 6.6L engine and TEN SPEED transmission.
$55K - Less than I expected but still WON'T HAPPEN!!
That is less then I thought too.

What are you hiding?
Hiding?
That sounds suspicious.
Is it suspicious to try to protect my privacy - a little bit?
Does Google or GM need to know that I go to the Catholic church and not the Lutheran church?
If we go to Dairy Queen for an ice cream cone does the GM mother ship need to know that?
We had a hail storm here a month ago.
I've gotten at least 20 calls and texts from companies offering free roof inspections + a half dozen ads in the mail.
Is it hiding because I just want to be left alone and avoid the incredible barage of tracking and advertising aimed at us?
And run ad blockers and refuse cookies and turn off location on our phones?
Are all the hiding things I mentioned really that suspicious? If so to who?

My main reason for not buying new these days is, a new vehicle can track everywhere you drive, your speed, and how long you're there; and there's no way to shut it off. California is sueing GM over that now.
That's true of most cars built in the twenty-first century. If you're OK driving a thirty year-old vehicle, no problem. But here in the rust belt most vehicles fall apart around the twenty year mark.

Also never carry or use a cell phone ( tracking ), use GPS ( tracking ), use a credit card or have a bank account ( transactions are all on record ), enter any place of business ( cameras ), enter any public building ( cameras ), or drive/walk past many homes and most businesses ( doorbell cameras ), own a business or have a job ( more records ). Worst of all... never-ever read, search, buy, sell or post anything on the internet ( UH-OH too late now ). Have a great ( if not already paranoid ) day!!!

Yeah, never understood how modern vehicles are the hill some choose to die on when it comes to this.

That four door pickup will pull a boat or camper to the lake on the weekend. Used to be a big old V8 station wagon for the job, but those don’t exist anymore. And a crossover is not going to cut it.
I have a friend who uses a Buick Estate station wagon for his primary towing vehicle. He is in his early 80s so no one thinks it is odd when we see him.🙂

Dawg, this is how the extreme left (bully) sees your personal choice. Its probably how they see a Christian southern redneck from NC. For the record that pix is not from my hood they will not let you hang a meter base on the side of a mobile home.

Some things are better not said but they cannot leave it alone.
