Is there a secret to installing this small gasket?

I've tried putting the part number NAA-17382-A gasket on the tach drive bushing 3 times now, and each time it tears before it goes over the screw in bushing threads. Is there some secret to getting it on without tearing?

I've had good luck turning them down the threads. Many replacement parts today may or may not meet original specs.
I can't even get the gasket over the end to get to the threads without tearing. 1 gasket was NOS Ford and the other 2 were New Holland.

I've noticed a lot of that myself. My guess is the part is manufactured in a Metric using country and the conversion from SAE to Metric winds up on the short side of the equation.

What drives me nuts are buttons and button holes especially on long sleeved shirt cuffs. The computer sews a hole per the diameter dimensions of the button. Problem is, rather than a dome shaped button, the button has vertical sides and you have to force the button through the hole
