Ford 8N replacement gas tank cap?

Recently was gifted a 1951 Ford 8N with vented gas tank (still need to finish cleaning it), but the tank cap is pretty much rusted out AND the gasket is shot! My Ford Parts manual says the part number for the correct gas tank cap is E5NN-9N208-CA. Bought from YT what appeared to be correct cap Item # 111721, but, while it "fits", it does not seal - it wobbles a bit and leaks like a sieve. When I "search" for it, nothing comes up with the 9N208 number, only 9N9030xx. If YT doesn't have the correct replacement, any suggestions as to where I might find one? Should I just cut a second seal and "double up"?

I matched up one at a NAPA store and it works well.

RG: do you recall the NAPA part number?
When I get down to my shop, I will look for the box or reciept.
I am taking care of my wife that had knee replacement Tuesday and I can't get down there but a few minutes at a time to feed my shop cat.

RG: caring for your wife comes first, always. Then feeding (and scratching) your shop cat. ... Then, if you have the time, you may respond to me.

icehose, I went to my shop a while ago.
I could not find the box or the receipt.
I Just went the the best NAPA we have and handed to a fellow and he searched til he found one.
I will look again tomorrow when I get a few minutes.
I did not have time to look every place it might be.

Had the same thing with a replacement cap on our 2N. Not sure why, but two different replacement caps were loose and wobbly. Turned out a cap for an old steel Mercury outboard boat tank fit and sealed perfectly - just have to remember to keep the vent open.

I have seen it posted numerous times that you can go to your CNH and ask for a cap for a new one and you can get one no charge even to this day, due to a long ago recall. I have never tried it.

You have to submit the serial # of your tractor, and if it has not already been replaced they will send you a new one- you get the later tall cap. I have gotten about ten of them, takes a while, but they come in the mail
