Thanks everyone for all the good tips. It was hot and humid today but I went ahead with the maiden voyage anyway. Didn't quite run a full tank and never had a bar pinch of any significance. In the beginning I was skeptical of C easy start feature but came to like it.

A tank of gas in this saw will produce a pretty substantial pile of brush. I had planned to have SWMBO help me pick up the brush in a few days BUT..... when I got back to the shop to cool off when I toweled the sweat off my face I realized I didn't have any eyeglasses. So it was back out in the heat and haul all the brush away while looking for my eyeglasses. No luck but I am lucky that my old pair is available.

Maybe I should invest in a strap for my glasses.

One thing that seemed to make operating easier was to rest the back of the engine on my thigh to hold the bulk of the weight. Good for reaching out horizontally but not when using maximum vertical reach.

Overall it was a huge benefit for the task I was doing.

Lost my own spectacles in much the same way ; or so I thought . After looking for them for almost an hour amongst the leaves and twigs on the lawn I rubbed my brow and felt them perched on top of my head !
Hopefully you will find them , and not with the sole of your boot .

Lucky me. If my glasses fall off, I know it instantly. Last time I was doing something and got them knocked off I was able to call the wife to come to shop and find my glasses. I did not move until she got there. Was able to call her because I remembered I had called her last on phone. Was able to touch correct button and call.

I did something similar here recently.
I wear those cheap cheater glasses as needed and have several pairs around here. I usually will hang them on the neck of my t shirt. I couldnt find them recently so I grabbed another pair. When I pushed them up on my forehead I found the first pair.

Decades ago, a neighbor was helping me get my hay up prior to a rain. Things were going pretty good until he stopped. I went over to see why and he said: "I just baled my glasses". Never forgot that and always took steps to keep it from happening.

STIHL has a strap that loops,over one shoulder and attaches at the throttle area, takes away lot of the weight off your arms

This saw has the shoulder strap----it's still helpful to unload the upper body strain (at 75 years young).
