Jungle Gym Loader On An 8N 6 Cylinder Funk

Found a derelict stock 8N with a jungle gym loader. I moked up my Funk from a photo and looks like it will work. The Funk hood is 10½" forward and 5½" taller than the stock hood. Is there any known or potential issues that the Flathead 6 Cylinder might have?

Not sure exactly how these mount but I would think that the extra length would be a problem at the rear mount. Maybe a different bracket could be made but I would assume that you leave the front alone and adjust for length at the back? Probably the extra height is not an issue? Would also assume that the crankshaft mount for the pump drive would need modification. Interested to learn about this.

Is the block and oil pan strong enough?
Does the funk use side rails to reinforce the engine/ block. Are they strong enough for loader forces?

According to the internet (which is always right):

"Early kits used external channel-iron side rails for support; later kits used a signature heavy cast-iron oil pan where the engine acted as a stressed frame member."

Pretty sure mine has the cast iron pan. I don't think I would try adding the stress of a Wagner loader to it

Mine is a cast iron pan but I think a sub frame would be better. That extra 10½" in length brings the 45° frame far enough forward from the rear fender to make a gap to sorta step through. Tack a step or two on the side. The jungle gym loader doesn't appear to trap the battery. A bonus is the bucket has already been converted to hydraulic.

Some years back I pulled the Funk into the void of a small yellow Ford loader and one from a newer 11XX something Massey. The Ford loader was a good fit on the sides but trapped the battery. The Massey loader was about the right fit length wise but a little too wide and much over weight.

Doesn't appear that the 226 distributor sticks out enough to hit the cylinder. I can't see anything else being a problem to access when the loader is mounted.

$500 sounds better and he don’t have to take them off and try to sell them
