a couple pictures from the Indiana State fair.

not a lot of equipment but they don't have a big space for too many. Near their pioneer village which we always like to see but we got over there a bit late for some of the demonstrations other than the tail end of the saw mill demo. they were making the old steam engine snort pretty good.

the fender bench was pretty neat and at the fair as well. this was a 4-H students project. It looked like it did pretty well.

Neat stuff.

When I was a little kid I remember seeing machinery hill at the MN state fair. Folks didn’t travel much but we made it there.

Not long after the state fair stopped being about farm stuff, and is more of an urban venue, with a few references to farming. Animals and crops are there, but not much machinery.

Which is fair enough, it’s held in an urban region.

Those of us in southern MN enjoy visiting the Clay Co fair in Iowa, a much more rural fair. Altho the last decade, see a bit less rural and a bit more city there too. They lost a lot of their charm when some old buildings came down and a strange mish mash of awnings and plain steel no longer grouped buildings went up. My opinion only.
