John deere 50 clutch noise

I had my 50 at a show yesterday and noticed that when I push the clutch forward to engage it make grinding/ clunking noise, it stops making the noise once the clutch is snapped in. It seems to be the worst when the tractor is in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or reverse, I should also mention that the clutch feels extremely grabby. It did not make this noise when I bought it less than than a month ago. Any insight when be appreciated

Pop the cover off and take a look around I’ve broken a “head” off the three bolts on various tractors in that clutch then it will jump a little you might have to take a look around. If you put a load on it does it slip?

It doesn’t seem to slip but the clutch doesn’t have a good snap when engaging, I tried adjusting it but it became so grabby that it was nearly undriveable and the noise got louder too.
