Is it possible to switch a side mount 8N block to a front mount setup?

Goober and his gaskets sealer
What ACDELCO has to say about RTV and gasket paper on a water pump.
hobo, I just looked it up rtv is technically classified as a gasket sealer I was thinking you meant silicone rtv like the stuff they use to seal rv roofs and stuff. (oopsie). Suppose they say you learn something new everyday I surely did.

I fired up the engine today and was surprised how easy it started. I mainly wanted to check for any leaks, The rtv sealed up the water pump just fine, no leaks there! Initially it was a little smokey but cleared up after about 5 minutes. I checked the oil pan, timing cover, governor, manifold and anywhere else it could leak. The only place where a lot of oil was leaking was at that oil pressure gauge adapter connector, the new part still hasn't come in yet. I thought that maybe if I wrapped a bit of teflon tape on the threads at the oil pressure gauge it might help as a temporary fix, but no, it didn't slow it down at all, and the gauge only showed about 25psi with the engine running. I can only assume that it will go up once I get that fitting sealed up. The new valve train sounds a little bit noisier than what I'd like, despite carefully adjusting the valves, so I'm hoping it will quiet down a bit after parts get broken it some. This tractor has been out of service for 4 months now, It'll be good to mow again!
