Can anyone tell me what the purpose of "Block, lift link float" (item 2; page 253 Drawbars and Hitches, from Parts manual for 560, 660)?

Can anyone tell me what the purpose of "Block, lift link float" (item 2; page 253 Drawbars and Hitches, from Parts manual for 560, 660)?

Well due to being able to apply DOWN pressure placing into the float allows the hitch to move up and down with out LIFTING the tractor or forcing the empalment deeper . Used when plowing or other fast hitch mounted items when down force is not required .
