Figuring out the proper pins for an electrical plug ?!

Good evening,

Ive been having some intermittent connectivity issues (which has had fairly serious results) with the kpss (basically the ECU) on my old 1997 Kobelco SK220LC Mark 4. Ive narrowed it rightr down to loose female pins in the plug that connects to the computer, but am having a helluva time id'ing what replacement pins I actually need to order. I even cut one off and took in into the local specialty electrical shop and they couldnt help me... Does anyone have any ideas or some type of direction I can head here ? Pretty easy repair if I can find some parts.....

If any company in the world has what you need it will be Digikey.com, locating it on their website might be a PIA though without any markings on the old part.

It's an AMP connector, in the picture. I did a quick search and found these:

I would check the dimensions and wire gauge. The digikey site includes a data sheet that should help.

I would check the dimensions and wire gauge. The digikey site includes a data sheet that should help.

the spec sheet shows different dimensions from what i have in my hand. Im not at all sure how to narrow the list down to find the same pin. Everyone keeps telling me to buy a multi connector kit on ebay or amazon which is all fine and good but not one of the pins in those kits matches up to the one i have in my hand. Im kind of at a loss on what to do here.

I noticed the spec sheet i referenced was in millimeters, hopefully your calipers can switch between units.
I would search on the wire gauge first, then look for square sockets, and then length. It is tedious.
I don't know if there is a better way, like looking at the pins on the other side.
Using a good electrical cleaner might help too, your connector looks a bit oily.
