Wrong replacement blades for rotary cutter

The guy at agrisupply gave me the wrong blades for my rotary cutter (dirt dog 5'). I should have measured the blades when he gave them to me. The blades are the correct length and thickness and the hole is the same size and positioned properly. The blades will physically fit easily. My concern is they are 3.5" wide and dirt dog specs call for 3". A half inch seems pretty negligible to me, but than after considering the amount of centrifugal force created at 540 rpm, that half inch of extra weight could be significant. Agrisupply is 2 hours from me and I dont want to spend 4 hours of windshield time swapping out blades that could safely be run on my cutter. May I have some thoughts on this please? Thanks!

They should be fine! If the blades are balanced, they cancel each other out when spinning. JMHO

I must be slow tonight, took me a while to figure out what dimension was left for the 3 to 3.5 inch…. Duh.

I’d run them.

With more mass, thry might knock on saplings a little heavier. If that is good or bad.

With 2 blades centrifugal force is balanced. More weight should give a little more inertia when you hit that thick spot.

Good question ,thanks for posting.
Not familiar with the design of the cutter. So be sure that there are no flaws in your framework.
Replace all fasteners with grade 8 bolts split washer washer and nuts ,torque and loctite .

Thank you! I did get the new bolts, washers, and nuts. I figure it's probably good practice to change those with the blades.
