Snapped the axle on my 560

Of course it would happen right when 45 tons of hay showed up to offload, but the front axle snapped in on my early 60's 560 today.


It's clearly happened at some point in the last 60 years before I owned it because it snapped along a previous weld.

I was looking at replacing the axle, and the axle that's listed for sale doesn't visually look like the axle that I have so I just want to confirm compatibility before placing an order

Is the new axle compatible with what I have? And then I would go with the heavy duty axle extension tubes, any issues there?

Welcome to YT. Your picture doesn’t show your tube very well but that drawing doesn’t look like it.
This one does. For that kind of money I’d call and ask some questions.

The center section of the wide ft tube is the same from 1954 up till the 66 series came out that is when the change took place . Over the years i have only seen two that broke there . . My one buddy who he and i jockeyed tractors and equipment and only god knows how much iron our two 706's loaded and unloaded the only thing Donnie's 706 broke was the right spindle while handling a 15 foot Brillon cultimulcher . Me i would pull the axle pull it back into shape and add some Murex 7018 and a truss of A 36 plate about three to four inches wide tapered out to just before the clamp slits and be done with it in a couple hours .. But that is just me as i Fix things when i can and usually i can FIX way faster and way cheapier then i can Buy
