New holland 846 round baler no spin

I had been using the 846 chain baler flawlessly and all of the sudden it stops spinning the hay. It will feed the hay start forming but never spin. It used to spin a roll flawlessly no matter the rpm speed or type of hay. I can’t see anything different.

Is the endgate opening up?

I discovered the problem. The previous owner had welded the main floor chain shaft and did a terrible weld. So I had 3 chains only moving

Ran one for decades, and I'm drawing a complete blank............................. Unless you've broken some of the floor chains. These chains are mostly what keeps the bale spinning. They seldom last more than a few seasons if you're doing a lot of hay

Looks like you found the problem. It's a good time to check the channels that the chain rides in. They get eaten clear through. The bottoms of the chains wear until the pins are exposed, and tear out.

I believe floor chains are still available from Shoup

Check the side bale forming cams............the things that fold out from the side of the baler. These are high wear items.
