I hate it the English language is being reduced to abbreviations for the text people. More often than not when I see abbreviations I stop reading and go to something else.

Three Letter Acronym.

Yep, and we have a book of authorized acronyms. A new private in the office had a bout with acronyms. He asked what EOB meant and was told it meant end of business.
One day we was tasked with writing a memo to the post general. At the top he initialed read at SOB (start of business is not an authorized acronym). Well we got a visit from the generals aide, saying the general was furious at being called an SOB. That took a few hrs to get straightened out.

There used to be a local infamous watering hole & grille that a group of about half a dozen of us tended to hit after work to unwind, where we were known as "The EOB"- End Of the Bar gang. We had an (un)official rule, no ties in the bar- and you would get a warning and chance to take it off. We had a huge pair of Wiss shears behind the bar to enforce it. The owner played along pretty well as we spent a lot in there, we would make fun of his very greasy burgers and his fat son who was cooking who we called Puggslie. When he wasn't there we would order pizzas delivered and leave the empty boxes hidden around the bar to irritate him. The kitchen looked like something from Bar Rescue- just oozing with grease. He had done a couple illegal additions to the building, and built an illegal dock on the river for the annual River Joust (drunks on paddleboats trying to knock each other in the water) so between the Building Department and Health Department, he got shut down
