In the market for an ultrasonic cleaner

Looking to purchase a budget friendly ultrasonic cleaner for cleaning carbs and other smallish parts. Something in 6L size from what I see would work well for my needs. With this being said. What are your experiences? What features are important and what is not? Never been around one so I am vulnerable to making a poor choice. Your experiences would certainly be appreciated. And save me a few $.

Ignore the brand name in the title, it's a Vevor. I have no experience with it as I haven't even taken it out of the box. But it's a heated 15L tank. At only 360w it's on the lower end, but I'm not running a shop or anything. I normally do carbs and I think this is overkill as I've been very successful with Chem-dip, brakleen, and compressed air. So I bought it as a luxury. I didn't need 15L but as with everything I own, if some is good, more is better. So I went bigger than I think I need. If it turns out to be junk, well, I'm only out the $55 and maybe I'll be able to talk Walmart into a return.

I’ve had bad luck with the cheap ones. So far I have not bit the bullet for a good one. Since you said budget, I assume you are not interested in one that is in the $5000 range.

If I need one to clean aluminum carburetor s I borrowed my sons. I think he got it from HoBo freight.
It will sometimes trip out on the heat and 4 minutes timer . I don’t remember I have not used it in awhile .
I used Dawn dish soap for aluminum. Because the detergent / degreaser they sell is not compatible with aluminum .
This very important when cleaning the small chain saw and garden tools carburetor s . Good luck

Wow, $55 great find. I'd be interested to hear how it works. I picked a tiny (1L) jewelry cleaner up at a garage sale for $10 but anything bigger than a small engine carb is too big to fit in it. It has a "sweep" feature where the frequency ramps up and down as it's running. Seems to work good but would really like a bigger setup.

I have a HoBo as well, been about 4yrs now; we've used the h#ll out of it and it's never let us down. I put a fair amount of time into researching them before I pulled the trigger and, while I'm sure there's a difference between the $$$ ones and the $ ones, I'm not sure that I would know the difference. Here's what I've learned:

1. hot water makes all the difference in the world.
2. Dawn Platinum works for everything I do
3. put your part and soap in a freezer ziplock and then put that in the ultrasonic cleaner bath...it keeps the tank and tank water clean.

We've put all kinds of stuff in there: gun parts, carbs, sediment bowls, the kids' dental retainers, jewelry, rifle brass for reloading...everything.

Do it, you won't regret it.
