Hot running Jubilliee/NAA valve adjustment?

How much oil should I see coming from the rockers/shaft with the engine running? I see a small hole in each rocker on the top/valve side, should these all have a seep to oil the valves? I only see oil from those on #1 cyl valves. Oil pressure is ~40 psi.

Engine idling and the valve cover off you should be flipping oil off of each rocker and getting your distributor and ignition side accessories covered in oil after a few minutes.

I thought as such. Looks like the rockers/rocker shaft needs to come apart and cleaned/inspected. Has not been run hardly at all since (minutes) R+R head was installed. Wanted to do hot lash with the hood/gas tank off first.

What sort of end plug does the shaft use? 2 shown in the IPL, no mention in the Ford shop manual. Are the rocker shaft supports located by pins like a Ferguson/Continental?

I didn't take the shaft assy apart when I did the head as it appeared in good condition.

It does take some time to get oil to all the places. The way it works is there is a passage in the camshaft which aligns with the feed tube every revolution. So it 'pulses' oil rather slowly up the tube to the rocker shaft. You should ascertain the feed tube has a seal and is inserted into the block above the cam gallery. Removing the side cover will allow you to inspect the situation. I am uncertain what the end plug of the rocker shaft situation is, I don't remember ever dealing with it on a Ford. I have had to fuss with Ferguson Continental engine rocker assemblies before where they use a cork to plug the ends of the shaft.

I'd recommend a manual if you don't have one. Dad had a Jubilee when I was young but that was before I was doing anything more than tune-ups on tractors. I've a lot of experience with the Red Tiger 172 engines which are quite similar to the 134 in a Jubilee, but the '53-'54 Jubilee/NAA engines were the first of the run and there are a few idiosyncrasies associated with them.

Tractor had a blown headgasket between #2 and 4. We had the head R+Red at a machine shop. We replaced a lot of other stuff while we had the head and gastank/hood off: radiator, wpump, bat tray, in/ex manifold, R+R distributor, selenoid, ............ We we first started it had good oil pres/40-50 psi, but was not charging. VR solved that.

We wanted to do hot lash before we put the tank/hood on. Are using a small tank off a DR rotary mower (has petcock), bungeed on the steering wheel. Noticed not much oiling when we pulled the cover and ran it. We had brought a full gasket set and replaced the seal/grommet on the end of the oil delivery line in the block. When we had the head off, we took the tappet cover off too to clean out that area, easy to do when when we were working on the distributor/dist out, and could see where the oil line connects.

Plan is to 1st pull the oil return line, rebolt the rocker tower and see what we get there for oil. Not much oil there will see what comes out of the delivery line. If poor delivery flow check seal on block end of delivery line, if good then need to take shaft apart, and clean it/rockers out.

I checked the shop manual about shaft plugs, no pictures but from description seems to be like 2 small freeze plugs that get tapped in each end, and cotters for safety retainers. Need to shop those.
 
Update.

Slow flow with pulses from the delivery line, fills the shaft up after a bit, and will pulse out of the return line hole in shaft.

Loosened up one rocker and slid it to the side, free flow out of hole in shaft bottom that supplies that rocker, from the full shaft when not running. Still no oil coming from the drilled holes in the rockers on the valve side when running.

Am I worrying about something that is not a problem?

Haven't found a source for end plugs for the rocker shaft. Shaft is still assembled.
 
I got a hold of the local longtime Ford Dealer/Mechanic (retired) whose Dad was selling Ns in the 1940s..........he said a slow flow from the feed line with pluses is what to expect. Then a slow flow from the return once the rocker shaft fills up.

I'm good to go.
