JD B manifold gasket - to seal or not to seal?

Opinions on whether ot not to apply gasket sealer to an unstyled B manifold gasket? Some people say use sealer, some don't.

Anyone have experiences they would like to share?
 
Seal it up! Gasket for three ports is B74R one-piece. And individual gaskets on other tractors to, seal up. Coat both sides of the center intake port with K-W Copper Coat. The two exhaust ports, both sides, Muffler Seal. And Fel-Pro anti-seize on the threads of the six mounting bolts. Used this on many two-cylinders for years, has made the gaskets last many years. ESP; the exhaust part of gasket?

Thanks for the advice everyone. I went with permatex muffler and tailpipe sealer on both sides of the gasket.

I also sealed the threads of the manifold studs that screw into the water jacket with Loctite 5770.

Going to put the head back on today and fire things up.
