What color to paint Frankenstein?

Got what I call an 861 since it is stamped 861 on the transmission. But everything forward of the transmission is a 4000. My guess is the SOS transmission went out and they had or found a 861 with a bad engine. Took the two and made one. The tin that came on it says 4000 and that what the guy sold it to me as. I didn't know no better. It had been all been painted blue. On the rear probably about half the blue is gone showing the red underneath. No red showing on the front. That's how I know what happened. Had a couple of issues that required me to remove the tin. So I decided to put some paint on it. I have the 4000 tin and I also have tin for a 861. So I can go back with either. So do I make it a 861 or should I make it a 4000. They were both basically the same tractor with some yearly improvement to the 4000. I'm curious what y'all think would be the best way to go?

Since you have the tin to go either way... if it were me...I'd go with the 4000 tin and paint scheme. Just for personal preference. If the 861 tin was in significantly better shape, I might use that ...but then I'd go with the red&grey paint.

Thanks for the reply. I have about decided to go with the 4000. Yes the 4000 tin is in better shape. I do like the look of the 801s. But I guess the more modern look is more desirable. You see that when you see 9Ns painted blue. I seen a nice 801 for sale that had been completely gone though. But they painted it blue and gray. My thoughts if I got it I would need the repaint it. All my Ns are a nice palette brown. But if I was the paint a 9 or 2 N it would be all grey. Same with my 8Ns. They would be red and gray. I wouldn't care if they weren't 100% correct. But they would be the correct color. Maybe not the exact tint. But close. I just thought I would get some opinions on the best why to go about painting a Frankenstein.

dark and earthy. blends hisself in with the elements. keeps the prey spooked. and rubber neckers and lolly gaggers un-interested... or I suppose you could go with the flamboyant clown colors it rolled off the factory with...
