1954 Ford 630 exhaust

First time posting here. I am in the process of repairing a 630 and I want to put a vertical exhaust on it. I live in Wyoming and it is very dry. I don't want to take the chance of the underslung horizontal exhaust setting anything on fire. The question I have is what do I need to do it. The parts store offers a few different options, but I don't know what I need. Can anyone lend assistance?

Does that connect to the horizontal muffler or to the elbow before the muffler?

That connects to the horizontal muffler outlet at the front of the tractor, where the horizontal exhaust pipe would. So it uses the original muffler. Pretty much a simple bolt-on procedure. Here is the kit with the vertical pipe:

That helps a ton. Thanks for the picture. The problem I have with YT is that there is no context or reference on how it is all supposed to go together.

Don't blame YT, it is not uncommon that aftermarket parts are not shown as a breakdown drawing like the ones that you can find in OEM parts books. And some aftermarket parts were never offered by the OEM. This elbow does not show up in the online parts book for the 630.

Our 960 Fords would overheat when worked hard. We put in a straight pipe where the muffler was, and put the muffler up vertical where the straight pipe would go on that bracket.

It did help keep the fuel tank and engine a bit cooler.

Not an issue if you aren’t really working the tractor hard.

That doesn't surprise me that it was an accessory, found other than in the parts book. Some parts books have an accessories section. I did not see one in the specific online parts book for the 630.

From my 1964 4000 Owner's manual. It is listed there too.

I have the parts manual for the 630 and it isn't listed there either. I do not have the operators manual.
