Running 2 sleds off one Agritronix system ????

Our tractor club built a second (smaller) sled. We have an Agritronix reading/display system on the older and bigger sled which weighs in at about 22,000 pounds. The second (about 12,000 pounds) one was built to accomodate smaller tractors. We used the smaller one this week at our tractor pull and all is good BUT we did not have time to deal with any type of electronic reading and display. We used a simple wheel distance counting unit this time around.

Here's today's question about next year. Does anyone know of a club or group that uses a single Agritronix system for two sleds? Our 2 sleds are similar in basic design but considerably different in all aspects relative to the electronic reading/display system ... tire size, sprocket tooth counts in the weight box driveline, different tranmission gear ratios, and most important probably .... different sprocket sizes and tooth counts on the sprockets that are used for sensing the distance pulled, etc etc etc.

Any comments or suggestions are appreciated .... Thanks.

Crazy Horse I was in charge of taking care of the monitor system for several years for our club. Been 6 or 7 years since I did that. I remember there being 2 distance calibrations. One sled we used had a 2 speed axle and when he changed gears on it he used number 2. Used number 1 other wise. I think you could set up 1 for big sled and 2 for little sled. Not 100% sure about that but let me look up the sled manual and see if I can find anything. You could call Agritronix and talk to someone. I dealt with a fellow I think was named Stanley a few times when I had questions and he was real helpful. In the manual it said priority was given to the distance. I told him priority should be given to speed as that is what we watch going down the track. He said good idea and would talk to the engineers about that. Don't know if they changed it or not. Lynn
 
I have installed our Agritronixc on 2 different sleds and have set it up and maintained it for years. No one else in our club is willing to learn. The secret is the tooth count on the sprocket that the sensor detects. You would have to pull each sled 300 ft and get the tooth count for each sled and program it into the control. Every time you move it from one sled to another it will have to be reprogrammed. It is not complicated and it only takes a few minutes to do it. There is no way to program both sleds in the computer at the same time unless they have come out with a newer version than we have.

We have so many pulls every day (175 each day in our ten weight classes last weekend), we hope to speed things up. So we'd have two sleds active at the same time (but not moving or pulling at the same time). One sled after the other. Our plan is to have two separate monitors, one on each sled .... and each one feeding information to its own display sign. But sharing the same electronic package. We wouldn't be moving a single monitor from one sled to the other.

I'm thinking we might be stuck with buying a whole new separrate package for the new smaller sled. What do you think?

We have a local club, not ours, that does pull 2 sleds and they have separate monitors for each sled. With the Agritronix you can change the broadcast and receive channels so that they do not interfere with each other. As far as the display boards, I have no experience with those.

Welding man The newer ones have 2 calibrations that could be used on different sleds just by changing Cal 1 to Cal 2. Lynn
