!940 John Deere H three-way gas/fuel valve

I am restoring a 1940 JD H and I need a three-way valve and note that the parts book lists two valves depending on the serial number. A friend has a JD three valve but there are no letters or numbers to identify if it is a AB1545R or a AB2805R--my question is will the gas and fuel lines AH644r and AH647R work on either valve?

I was hoping to know ahead of time (before I ordered the lines) whether they were going to work or not. If I have to I will take a chance and go ahead and assume they will work--if they don't then I will be out around $60.00. I was just hoping someone would know this and save a few bucks!

Do you know that this friends three-way valve even came off of an H? Can't you make your own lines?

He has many tractors and since it looks like an AB1545R or an AB2805R in the parts book I assume it is of from an H. I may have to make my own lines but I thought I would try the experts to see if the fuel lines on Sharps would work on either valve which would save me the trouble of making them.

When I changed the 3 way valve on my B to the newer style I had no issues with the fuel lines. They were 5/16 fittings at the connections. They are the same size on my G & D. Tom in Mn.

Otis, Just to let U know I haven't forgotten u. I've look three times for that valve and I can't locate it. I'll keep trying.d To answer your latest quesstion, Check the part number for the gas lines that go on those two valves you are looking at, If the part number for the gas lines are the same then the lines should fit either valve. RW

Hi RW I don't know why I didn't check the pipe numbers which is so obvious---The pipes cover all serial numbers so they clearly fit both valves. Live and learn!! Thanks for the idea. I will wait to hear whether you have the AB1545R.
