My loader tractor, for a good many years, was an H with either a Caswell or NH branded Caswell chain loader. Has a manure fork with bucket plate & a 7' wide, 34" high snow blade that my grandpa made from scraps from AO Smith & a used scraper bar from the township.

My 2444 that replaced it will do 4x the work, sipping diesel & I can steer it with a finger tip.

Those tractors have steering assist, the two pedals operated by your right foot.

The dairy farmer we used to partner with on hay and oats had a 3020 gasser that we took great joy in embarrassing with out 706D's whenever we could. He had 3 big 10 ft wide 4-wheel hay wagons with the big racks for his kicker baler. So we let him hook up to one with a 706 and haul it over to the barn. He went to back it up close to the conveyor, and of course was very proud of his prowess at backing up a 4-wheeler, but he was also unfamiliar with the shifting pattern of the 706. Wheeled up in L4 high TA, and just dropped it in R, turned the wheel and let out the clutch. Backed right over the tongue and made a pretzel out of it

My S/MTA does not have P/S and i never felt that i needed it as i did not think it steered that hard . Till the day a friend came begging me for help . That morning i had just sold the last ready for the field 706 i had ready and he was in a nine line bind with ground fitted and beans ready to plant and a rain storm moving in late in the day . When his tractor gave up the ghost . 52 acres and a 30 min haul tog et to his rented ground. He had a 5100 I H drill 21 hole . I told him all i had running was the MTA and i asked what size cylinder was on the drill and he said two inch , yea ok fine for a newer tractor with higher hyd pressure i had a 3 1/2 inch cylinder to take . So we went bean drilling and to cover the ground meant we had to run hard and run forth . Steering with my left and working the hyd.'s with the right and throttle . Piece of cake Fly down the row back half way off the throttle crank on wheel stab brake straighten up and hammer down to the other end and repete , dust flyen beans going in the ground . move to the next field repete . Done as it started to sprinkle . Got the drill covered with the tarp in a light drizzle and on the trailer chained down ramps put in as the steady med rain started coming down . Yea we got it done . BUT the next day ah the next day i was not sure if i was going to DIE or was 3/4 dead already . i made sure the rail road tracks did not move during the night and got run over by a train , GOD i hurt it even hurt to pee , day two after the fact i think it was worse , took me four days to move a little better then a Corps Now i was leaning to finding a P/S unit for the S/MTA
