I worked with a few Russian guys in Iraq.
Mostly for transport of vanhool busses.
They talked about farming on collective farms,. and belarus tractors
Interesting stories.
I'm fascinated with the rural history of agriculture in Russia.

Dad had a 250 in the 70’s
Crude by American standards but it didn’t have a Deere price tag either.
Pros down pressure on the 3 point
Cons finding parts and it would get stuck in a mud puddle with those narrow tires.

Years ago there was a dealer in a neighboring town so you used to see some of them. But I haven't seen one now in probably thirty years.

Ah yea . a friend of mine dove head long into them as a dealer . At the time he CONNED me into taking over his oil field service company as he ran three different company's out of one location , A oil field service company doing water hauling , entrance building ans drilling rig site prep and as the oil patch called it a tractor service meaning Dozers with winches and small pipe line construction . the other was a Detroit diesel otherwise service rebuild service and a young guy who had the hots for his daughter . and a Rail road Frog harding service where they used plastic explosives to harden the Frogs . Then he took on that line up of tractors and got in a whole flock of them . Next up was he got around a 150 acres of ground to farm with them . One evening when things we slow he got me to take a 560 Belares(sp) and a set of john deere F 145 four bottoms to help him plow as he was usen the monster four wheel drive that was a cross from early Russian army tank and a Russian army truck and a set of oliver 7 bottom plows The 560 was ft wheel assist . What a piece of JUNK it rattled clattered and struggled with 4 x16's . By 10 Pm i had enough and drove it back to the shop got in my pick up and went home . He spent the next three days with the Monster and i ended up planting it with my Farmall 460 and a 1240 4 row John Deere planter five times the tractor and i really hated my 460 . A hand full were sold and all had issues , parts were a night mare even back when they were just coming into the country . Best advice is to RUN FAR AWAY from one as fast as you can , go find a wore out John DEERE OR IH atleast ya can find parts for them.

Add to that nice cab, very fast hydraulics, easy on fuel and a diesel that starts up all winter. Mine last year became my go to feeding tractor with the winter we had.
