4x6 gator getting air out

Hi, I have a late 90’s 4x6 gator. Earlier this summer it was geeting hot and anti freeze wasn’t flowing. I removed the water pump and the impeller was loose on the shaft. I replaced the water pump last week. I filled it with anti freeze through the hose that’s on the water pump. Today when I was driving it around the high temp light comes on. If I raise the box and squeeze the hoses it usually will start to circulate. So I’m wondering is there a special trick to make sure I have all the air out of the systems. Or ??? Do I have a sticking thermostat?
Thoughts and ideas appreciated.

Sticking or air bubble. Take the thermostat out, dip in hot water with thermometer, does it open at temperature stamped on it?

I was thinking that I had air buddies in system that were preventing flow. So did an AI search, where one of the suggestoIns was to park it on a steep incline with radiator higher than engine. Squeeze hose going from engine to radiator and continue until all indication of buddies are gone. Skeptical at first but did anyway. All indications are the problem is resolved. I figured if that was not going to work I would do as Jim suggested and remove thermostat and put in a pot with a thermometer to see if or when it opened, hope this helps future DIY folks.

just an FYI, earlier Gators had a bleed plug for this problem, for some reason, some bean counting engineer at Deere or Kawasaki decided it wasn't necessary! We used to pick them up at an angle in the shop with an overhead crane to get the air out of the later ones

sorry for the picture size, but if I made it smaller it wasn't clear-
