Oliver 565 plow parts

Ive had this plow sitting as a lawn ornament for as long as I can remember, 40+ years. It was owned and used by a friend of our a long time ago, and I dont know the backstory as to how it ended up like this. Long story short, my father passed away 2 years ago and we've been selling off the equipment around the yard. I have a guy interested, but he wants it to be completed and in working order. From what I can gather, there are two lift arms and some sort of rotator plate that are missing.

Obviously they don't make the parts I need, so Im asking if anyone has one sitting in the weeds somewhere that they would part out, or know of a boneyard that might have one laying around? I'd rather not pay a machine shop to fabricate these parts if I can avoid it.

If he won't take it as is, take it to the scrap yard. You'll probably get more for it anyway. Tell him it's for sale like it is, take it or leave it. He knows what's missing. Not your problem. No great loss if it's melted down.

Unfortunately like Randy said. As is where is, is your best bet. If you went to a salvage yard to get the missing parts I’ll bet they charge you 500 bucks at least. That being said. If he won’t take it as is, at least check the condition of the moldboards, shins, and points before you scrap it. I’d guess the points are probably shot from sitting in the dirt but if the shins are still decent and the moldboards aren’t feathered out at the tips they are worth a little bit of money on their own to a guy redoing a plow. The price of new wear iron is getting ridiculous so good used stuff is rather sought after. And by the way, that’s a 5540 pipe plow not a 565, just a heads up.

Oliver was very popular around here, and I’ve not really seen a pipe plow like that. Interesting.
