4020 diesel throttle linkage "thingy"

The ball joint hand throttle link "Thingy" on the old 4020 is worn out. Part T23688 was suggested as replacement but online image showss that has ball on one end only. My worn one has ball joints on both ends but I cant come up with part number and I'm trying to avoid a 40 mile, non-productive trip to JD store.

Not sure I am looking at the right thing. I searched the T23688 part number and this was the only drawing it shows in. If you are looking for both ends and the rod between them, they are sold as separate parts. T23688 is just the joint for one end. Unless your rod is damaged you should be able to replace just the end joints. This picture is from the parts catalog (PC859) for the 4020s serial numbers prior to 200999. T23688 subs to AN207028 according to the detail note in the description.

This is what I'm trying to replace. Thank you sir. I THINK may have found the part. Supposed to be delivered in a couple days. JD part # R40982 is IDd as Hand Speed Control Linkage Tie Rod Assembly.

The part I remember selling more regularly on 4020 throttle linkage is shown in photo below

R40982 fits the newer 4020's tractors after serial number 201000 according to parts catalog PC1116. I believe from you past posts your serial number falls in the earlier serail number range and uses parts catalog PC 859 which shows R33972 as the tie rod assembly for your tractor, as Tx Jim's drawing shows.

Hopefully the one you ordered will work, even if not the correct one, and you don't need to purchase another.

I agree with Jim.ME R40982 according to part # research on JD-parts.com fit 4020 after serial # 201,000 not early model 4020 that I previously posted a photo of.
