Ford 1974 5000 engine bearings

I had the engine block machined for our 1974 5000 this spring. Finally getting around to putting it together. We got a Reliance kit from the machine shop. Started putting the main bearings in to check the crank oil clearance and the thrust bearing won't drop into the block. Curious if anyone knows the part number for Clevite-Mahle bearings for this 256 diesel engine? Think I'd feel better with a known supplier. Or if anyone can recommend a company that they've had good luck with? The New Holland bearings I priced were on the upper end for price.

Thrust bearings don't "drop in", you have to lightly tap them into place.

I have been a Reliance dealer for many years and have had really good luck with their parts. If I have a problem they take care of it. Go back to where you bought the kit, and if you do have a problem, have them contact Reliance. If the block was line bored, they may have failed to cut a radius on the edge of the fit so that the bearing can set down correctly. Have seen it happen twice in my career.

I've had my hands in plenty of 404 and 466 Deere engines and the Ford 172s, but this one just seemed snug, hence the question. The block wasn't line bored, but the cylinders were and liners put in.
