yes I am aware of the cracks on that PTO thingy, overall most of the stuff that is seized has freed up but the hard part is assembling it and trying to make it cut grass again.

Before you go too far, check the guard and section condition and measure the centre-to-centre distance of the guards and sections. A lot (maybe even most) European sickle mowers of that era had either Rasant or Florett cutter bars. Both great bar patterns, and better quality (and less likely to plug) than any of the conventional North American cutterbars (right up until the 2000's when North American manufacturers started using the newer European dual-action style). But those Rasant and Florett wear components like sections, guards, hold-downs, etc. are really, really hard to get over here in North America. Not impossible, but shipping and price from a European supplier will make it not worth it.

If your sections, guards, hold-downs, and wear plates are in great condition and/or you have some spares, it'd certainly be fun to put together and try. But if it needs and of those parts (or if you start using it and any break/wear and you don't have spares), be prepared for the mower to be useless unless you source the parts from Europe. ESM is the best supplier for any old European pattern cutterbar components.

Certainly an interesting mower, and won't do any harm to try running. Looks like all that's required might be to bolt the swath board on and slide the knife in. Here in Canada we saw a few more interesting European pieces of equipment from that era, primarily because Quebec dealers still maintained some independence right up through the 80's and were a little more willing/able to bring in and shortline European equipment instead just the same CNH/Agco/JD stuff as everywhere else.

well I have some more pictures of parts like the sickle tip. it still has its shoe and tip and the apparently very rare attached rod still. As for parts Aktiv has been gone since 1984 I believe so no parts left but nothing some redneck ingenuity couldn't fix i suppose
