Axel weight limit for the DOT. We call it a dolly.Interesting that it has a cradle for the boom up near the cab. Wonder why they used the trailer/dolly instead?
Mr. Musk rents it to put the star on top of his Xmas tree.An blank check & bottomless bank account.

weight, you can only have so much weight per axle boom is very heavy too much weight to be used over the roadInteresting that it has a cradle for the boom up near the cab. Wonder why they used the trailer/dolly instead?
Only because the State DOT limits weight per axle. They can move that crane with the suspension locked, the boom retracted and locked, and with weights hanging. Obviously there are limits to movement.weight, you can only have so much weight per axle boom is very heavy too much weight to be used over the road
That's a 500 ton, it has 7 axles. A 700 ton has 8 axles. It looks like a 700 ton Liebherr. The daily rental probably isn't as much as you think, not counting the oiler and at least one operator.
In Philadelphia, a 500t is probably about 60k for one 8 hr day. Not including road closures. This price would include the permits, transportation, one operator, one oiler, lift plan (without PE stamp) and about 6 trailers of cribbing and weights. Whoever is renting provides most of the labor to assemble. This price would not include any kind of jib. I would guess the actual crane rental is about 5k a day.
That 700t setting up for turbine blades? Probably $150k for 5 days.
Not really. Link Belt still makes up to 300 ton all-terrain cranes in Kentucky. Grove still makes some cranes here, but their all-terrain models are made overseas. Are there any US made like this?
Lol! I counted wrong. Twice!That's a 500 ton, it has 7 axles. A 700 ton has 8 axles.
Rented a 500 ton a couple months ago. $15k in, $15k out, $1k per hour (8 hour min).
Middle TennesseeLol! I counted wrong. Twice!
What's was the rental location?
I see them all the time going up i75. I think there plant is somewhere down near Lexington. Not really. Link Belt still makes up to 300 ton all-terrain cranes in Kentucky. Grove still makes some cranes here, but their all-terrain models are made overseas.
The big players for all-terrain crane are Liebherr, Tadano, and Grove, which are all made overseas.
