Good to hear you got it started. Thank you for updating this. You certainly did ok on that tractor for $500.
Top link should never be used in the top hole of the rocker use the lowered hole. Check chain brackets on tractor are upside down the hole the chains connect to should be at the top. I can't tell how many links are in the check chain there should be seven links not counting the connector link at each end. I have never been able to duplicate a factory check chain its something I just buy and move on with life. I will take all the $500 tractors like yours I can get : )More pictures from back and both sides
The only numbers below are the serial number
Good to know I will make some adjustments and move some chains and the link bar , thanks againTop link should never be used in the top hole of the rocker use the lowered hole. The first clean tractor is my 601 and the other is my 8N they look the same to me, but I don’t really know. Let me know. Thanks
Early 6X1 were stickered with their actual model number.I also have another question, the decals say 601 and I know that is a series of tractor but the model number stamp states it’s a 641 is that normal, cause I see others with 641 on the decals, not gonna change the decals was just a bit curious
I think they started off with the full model number as shown below in the introductory brochure then switched to just the series (601 for example) to simplify production. The parts list only has Workmaster 601 for all years but George Bradish has both.I also have another question, the decals say 601 and I know that is a series of tractor but the model number stamp states it’s a 641 is that normal, cause I see others with 641 on the decals, not gonna change the decals was just a bit curious

So, my 1953-1958 Ford Tractor Parts Catalog list the parts in whatever level of distinction that applies. For example, the 9' double clutch is listed specifically for the 661, 861, 961 (meaning it fits only those models). But the radiator is listed for the NAA, 600, 700 (meaning it fits anything in those groups). And something like the 6v battery is listed for all models.According to my serial number 619xx mine is a 1959 if I’m reading it correctly,
So do I look up parts for 1 601 or 641?
Yes Steve I will install one I occasionally with finish mower or bush hog but mostly garden stuff, plow, disk, ect
