Ford New Holland 4630 turbo

30 series have a very complicated wiring harness compared to any of the earlier models, it also changed depending on the year model
I may have a diagram for a early model but it’s several pages, I have a old harness from a 3930 but it’s in rough condition

What is wrong with yours or what are you trying to look up

Well I replaced the ignition switch because I was having trouble with the engine not shutting down. I called and spoke with a local dealership that used to sell Ford and New Holland tractors and he sent me a diagram showing the wire locations on the ignition switch and the wire colors and i matched everything up accordingly but now the engine wont start. It recieves power to the solenoid on the pump when you switch the key on but power goes away when you go to the start position. I checked each terminal on the back of the key switch and all the extra terminals have power and go dead when the switch is in start position . There is no specified " Ignition " terminal on the switch . I have already checked the fuse box by the battery and the fuse for the fuel shutoff is good. If i run a jumper from the battery to the fuel solenoid it will start and run and shut off when power from battery is removed. I am an experienced John Deere CNF Tech of 30 yrs and I have good skills with troubleshooting electrical problems I just cant find a good schematic to figure out where the problem lies. Yes these 30 series tractors are oldballs to say the least because they are right in that transitional phase when New Holland took over. These tractors can be difficult to find parts for and manuals. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Before replacing the switch it would start and run fine but wouldn,t shut off. Someone had previously removed the plunger from the shut off solenoid so it would run and they would just shut it down with the lever on top of the pump but I'd like to get it back to working with the key as it should.

I’ll look to see if the little bit of info I have shows how the switch wires for the electric shutoff
Normally we remove the plunger and install a old fashioned kill cable that Ford used for years

I looked through the diagrams I have for the early 30 series models, it do not show anything for a fuel solenoid on the injection pump. Therefore I cannot chase the circuit back to see how it connects to the key switch

I have two 3930s currently and one has the soleniod and one does not. One is a 8/2 and the other is a 8/4 mech shuttle, ie a 4 speed trans on the right dash lever, and a high/low/reverse on the dash lever lever. I have not ever thought to call this model a "reverser" though.

I’ve never heard of the 8x4 being called a reverser but the 8x8 has been called a synchro shuttle
Your 3930 is the first I’ve heard having a 8x4 from the earlier 10 series

The parts site calls the earlier 4630s, made from 03/90-12/97 as "NON-EMISSIONIZED", and the later ones, from 01/98 through the end of production as "EMISSIONIZED". I would assume that they added the shutoff solenoid when they started making the emissionized version.

Again, has a "4 on the tree" on the right side of the column. Left side lever on the tree, "down" and there is fwd, N, Rev, then "up" on the tree and then fwd, and high range fwd only... and the left shifter is a bit hard or clunky in my opinion, and not smooth and easy. Other thing interesting that all the late 3930 have orange knobs on the end of the shifters... kubota orange.

Yes 8x4 has 4 gears on one shifter and high, low, reverse on the other, this combination gives 8 forward and 4 reverse gears. Column shift on open station and floor shift on cab models, I have this style transmission in my 6610 cab tractor
The Kubota built 8x8 synchro shuttle has 4 gears on the right shifter, hi- low on the left shifter, FNR on a 3rd shifter, this 3rd shifter was mounted on the left side on the transmission on early models and as a column shifter on later models

Although I’ve never seen electronic fuel shutoff on a 10 series the solenoids part # is E8NN9D278AA, E8 indicates it’s a 1988 part
My 30 series part manual shows it for the earlier non emissions DPA pumps, emissions engines used a different pump

Here is the pic of the other one... 4speed on the trans, high low on the trans,,, and a simple fwd/N/Rev on the left side of the column. Iirc, this is the one that easier to shuttle/shift.. Notice the trans is "new holland" grey with orange knobs...

That’s the Kubota built transmission
