My B won’t start after setting up with ethanol gas in the tank the tank outlet was plugged. I took settlement bulb off and run a drill be up through it now when I try to crank it, it spits back through the carburetor I rebuilt the carburetor same thing should I replace the settlement bulb unit? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the float in the carb is hanging up and not shutting off the gas flow as it should.

First, check the fuel flow through the carburetor. With the sediment bowl turned on pull the drain plug from the bottom of the carb bowl and see how long it takes to get a pint, after the initial fuel rush that comes as the bowl empties. you want to see how well the steady flow is.

You didn't say if you have a good spark to the plugs.

When you rebuilt the carb did you use a fine wire or torch tip cleaners to poke through every passage?

Shot carb cleaner through every passage I could find. I’m going to take it back apart and try again.

I thought about that but I didn’t replace it, but I will.

It was sitting under a shelter on a piece of land I own but don’t visit often, a bear had pulled 2 of the plug wires off, so I had to get new ones. I’ll probably get new plugs too.

When I would get the sediment bowl stem plugged I took the shut off all the way out and cleaned it totally clean. That was after trying to use compressed air and still having the tractor stopping when mowing the farthest distance away from the shed. For me the solution was to remove the gas tank use a cup of 1/4" nuts to knock the crud and rust loose from the inside the tank. I always found gooey stuff when the shutoff valve was removed.
If the screen was bad in the sediment bowl I found crap in the carburetor that would do both at a different time in cogging or holding the float valve open.

Would “spitting back through the carb” indicate possibly a valve stuck open?
Crossed plug wires will cause that. When I was 16 and had dads 41 Chevy with a problem. I drive it into the chevy garage and the owner came out and crossed two spark wires and had me start it up and press down on the foot feed and it popped a few times and he had me shut it off, he put the plug wires back and when I started it back up an it ran fine. He said it had dirt in the carb.

Just a memory to share not what might be wrong with his tractor.
