2-60 Brake Job (Impossible) Need Info

Yes sir I sure am. Getting this band out was tough to start with, but putting it back in has even tougher. Once I get it in trying to reinstall the band pivot link has seemed to be simply impossible. Who ever designed this setup should've been fired.

Did you test fit the pivot link inside the band, outside the tractor prior to installation attempt?

This video starts at the relevant portion, and it's sped up, but it gives you the idea.

LoL! Just watched your video and had to laugh when I saw you having to do the same thing I did i.e. grind the brake show eyelet bosses down . I found after 4 attempts at trying to get the bell crank for the peddle to rotate that when I held the brass bushing against the pivot the holes were never going to align because of the thickness of the eyelets. Just one of many irregulars I've come across trying to do this brake job. I'm at the point now of trying to get the drum to slide back in through the shoe. But now it appears the shoe isn't round enough to provide the needed circle to let the drum in. I'm not sure how I'm going to attack this issue yet. I did find that I had to grind of a small amount from the end of the brass bushing because it was locking up the pivot at which point you couldn't move the shaft at all. It wooped me for the week, so I gave it a rest till Monday's hell start again. I did find out that if you connect the pivot to the lower half of the shoe first then start the two ends in first that you can with little effort bang the back of the shoe and it'll pop in fairly easy. I can't wait to be done with this job. AT 74 I just don't have the strength or stamina to keep fighting like when I was young. Your video was a help though thanks for providing it.
