Good morning everyone. My dad bought an International 354 almost 30 years ago. It did everything we needed it to do but since the day he bought it the PTO lever had to be held in gear but with as little as he used it he didn’t care. Well as you can imagine the PTO finally gave up and won’t stay in gear with an implement attached. I’ve studied a little bit and what I’ve found the most likely culprit to be is that the PTO output shaft and whatever shaft the locking collar slides onto to spin the output shaft has worn down where the collar joins them. A couple questions still remain. What is the shaft called that the pto output shaft joins to? When looking for parts I see multiple diagrams for different styles of that shaft. I’m not sure if that’s true or not but is there anyway to tell what style shaft is needed from the model/serial number?
