Case 530 gas governor

My first post and new to the site.
Hoping to get some insights from some case 530 enthusiasts!!!
My brother just got a very worn 530 gas tractor with some carburetor issues, but initially the bigger problem seems to be the governor isn't functioning at all.
Was hoping for some ideas and maybe a parts diagram that shows the linkage layout.
Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙏!!

This has been posted before on forum, but I must ask, does the rod that goes from the carb front to the arm near the fan move easy or very hard, there are needle bearings in the front cover that get dry and rusty, many times you can get them working by saturating that lever where it enters the timing cover, if that is the problem if it frees up, keep it oiled so oil can seep down to the bearings, Are the springs behind the generator in good shape, do they stretch out when the throttle in pulled down, check those things out and let us know, there are several people on here who know those tractors well, we will help you through it.

Thanks much for the initial insights!!
Will be a few days before I'm back with the tractor.
Will check out the facts you provided and follow up.
Again, many thanks!!!

As a follow up, I'm curious, did these tractors ever us a marvel carburetor??
All the photos I find they all have a zenith carburetor, and as I'm mostly familiar with old Ford tractors (please don't hold that against me 🤣🤣), this tractor definitely has a marvel that's very similar to the ones on my old fords.?.?.?

Most had Zeniths but I have seen Marvels and I much prefer them to Zenith, they're cast Iron and the bodies stay in good shape, I have done a lot of both over the years and have seen many of the Zeniths with the aluminum body stripped where the main adjusting jet goes in the body. Does your tractor just set at one speed no matter where you have the throttle lever? check what I said in the first post then if that is ok we will go into linkage settings just in case someone put a different carb on and did not set the rod length correctly.

With the governor you need the correct spring. If someone has replaced with the wrong spring the governor will not work right and the engine will surge.

Good to know!!
Do you possibly have a picture of the correct spring installed so I have atleast some clue as to what I should be seeing next time I'm back with the tractor 🙏.?.?

It is more the tension as it is what the spring looks like. Last time I needed one I ordered it from John Salie. But the sympton is the governor seems to be hunting for the right speed. If it is not doing that you probably have the right spring.
