    My new 1947 8n13325

    Axle seals to start. Drip Transmission/hydraulic fluid changed and that was not looking good. Gasket kits for transmission, differential and shifter covers. Box of rags and SIMPLE GREEN to clean the housing as much as possible. Toothbrush and wet-vac... Just beginning to restore the new/old...

    Splitter

    Looking at fabricating a tractor splitter for my new 1947 8n tractor. Release bearing is noisy when depressed and quite once peddle is pressed. Notice the retail price is ridiculous for a splitter. $700 to start. Angle iron for track. Jack stands fabricated with wheels and a platform for tractor.

    Can't be good

    Inspection cover under differential has hydraulic pipe protruding from it and riding against the exhaust pipe. Not worried since I am changing it to a vertical stack. Tree farm has high brush that is flammable with hot exhaust. Thinking this tractor had a leader. Pipes capped off everywhere.

    1st tractor and going ask a few question on what the heck is this??? Dip stick cover has 3/4" pipe come out 3" with elbow and plugged off.

    Over did the paint job

    Just bought the 47 8n and finding he painted everything. Grease fittings, nuts, threads and its all acting like lock tight. I took Either and a brass wire brush to everything. 2 gallons of thinner. Lots of socking time. Don't paint it assembled if you want to work on it later. Yes its easier...

    Tractor splitter

    Looking at tractor splitter and the price is ridiculous. I sat down last night at designed the track. Look at fabrication of the leveling jacks. Should have a working prototype by middle of August. Going to rummage the local scrape piles.

    Hydraulic oil change and flushing system

    New ownership of 47 8n and I am doing a fluid change on engine and hydraulic's. Grand Pa not with us and can't ask him. I remember him telling me to use transmission fluid down carb. for stuck valves. Will that clean Hydraulic ports and passages too. Run a short time and drain.
