4600 ford tractor hard cranking
I have a neighbor that has a 4600 Ford Diesel. The tractor runs flawlessly when cranked. The only two ways he can crank it is with just a very small shot of starting fluid, or pul it as little as ten feet and it fires right up. Ihave a 861 Ford gasser 5spd with double stage clutch. it seems to have excessive play in clutch. I have shorted rod between pivot and clutch pedal as short as I can get it. theres is still at least 2 inches of travel in pedal before I feel resistance. I recently aqquired an 861 ford tractor with a 172 c.i. gas engine and 5 speed transmission with live pto. Ive got the tractor running excellently. It has been sitting for quite a while.
