    John Deere 55 head won't go down

    Having trouble getting the header on my 55 to go down. Goes up perfectly, the reel goes up and down good. The lines to the Rams are not blocked or kinked.. I'm lost on this! Any ideas?

    One down..

    Finally got everything painted up last week and some new decals on. Some filters changed and fresh hyd fluid. She looks and acts like a new one now. Thanks for all the input, hopefully I can start another soon!

    got some primer on

    Got a good coat of primer/sealer on today. Thanks to everyone's suggestions on grease removal. The ez off worked good, needle scaler worked really good, and a power-washer hooked into the houses hot water supply finished it off. Now to find a good paint code to match massey silver!

    Got the sheet metal off

    Got a good start on my project today. All sheet metal is off. Pretty filthy underneath. Guess I'll start with a putty knife and some brake cleaner to find my way back to the cast. Any suggestions on a simple way to remove some grime?

    New Project

    Picked up a 265 Massey from my uncle, 76 I believe. Used to be my dads but sold it to my uncle when he quit farming in the late 90's. Poor girl looks rough! She's been in the weather and neglected for the last 10 or so years. Still runs pretty good, made the 10 mile trip to my house without...

    Hello everyone! I've been reading posts on this sight for the last couple of years and finally wanted to say hi. I grew up farming and now help my FIL on his farm. Always enjoy the posts and Allen's project pictures. Hope to post some pics of my own soon.
