    Intermittent Spark Issue

All, finally after several years I'm getting back to my Paps 9N. I seem to have spark at the start of getting the engine spinning and at the end but not while it's spinning over in the middle. Condenser? Coil? I have every spare part thanks to TSC clearancing off all their old tractor stuff...

Revived 9N, I think It's an early one

It's been a while since I've posted in here but after my Pap's 9N was sold and I bought it back I finally got it running and driving again. It needed the basic maintenance done but fired up and idles great. It will need some more fine tuning but I'll get there. I'm gonna need new rear rims...

    JD 1240 to plant Soybean

I have a JD 1240 planter. I want to use it to plant soybeans this year. I don't have the right cups but can I use the fingers(normally for corn) to plant soybeans beans? I think I read before it may drop 2 beans per "drop" but they seem similar in size so are there really any issues?

    Checking In

All, haven't been on here in about 6 years. Miss it but life has been busy. Got married, have a little girl who love tractor rides with dad when we get back to my parents place where the tractors are. I just wanted to thank anyone and everyone who had helped me when I was younger, dumber, and...

    Trip Loader Value?

I took the loader off my Farmall H because we have two other tractors with loaders and I don't use it anymore. Whats the going values for trip loaders? It needs the cylinders rebuilt as water is getting into the hydraulics but still works fine.

    9N Valve Kit Replacement

I need to redo the valves on my 9N. I am seeing rotating exhaust valves and non rotating exhaust valves. Is there anyway to know what I have before I tear into the engine? As far as I know its never been apart. I haven't done valve work before so this is all new to me. Thanks,

    IH 35A disc bearings

I am going to rebuild my disc with new blades and might as well do the bearings. Has anyone found the bearings or have the part numbers? I was hoping to use the ones that agrisupply has on their site. Mine has the two halves that bolt together around the bearing. If anyone can help I'd...

9N running rough at idle fine under load

I've fixed alot in the 9n but it's running rough when at high throttle idle. Sounds like when you are going down a steep hill and the engine is holding you back. When I put the plow in the ground and work it it sounds great. After a lot of work it does get rough and will start to backfire some...

    Fixed leaky seal!

All. I split the tractor with no problem at all. I can't believe how easy it was. I'm glad I took it on. To a done who followed the saga the pilot bearing, throw out bearing and everything else was replaced but the input seal wasn't. Anyway I got it fixed in a matter of a few hours...

    Front transmission seal replacement

All, per your advice on my last post I did do several things for the old 9N. I bought several parts from here to work on the old gal. Now I feel I can tackle the job of putting in a front transmission seal. It's leaking really bad and we just had the clutch replaced. The guy didn't replace...

    Leaky rear end

We just had the clutch replaced on the 9N as oil was leaking past the seals and got on the clutch. Well I didn't deal with the guy who did the work, my cousin did. Anyway it's leaking bad out of both seep holes. The one right in front of the drain plug under the shifter and the forward one near...

Got the Corn Picked and checking in

Haven't been on here in forever. Figured I'd show you guys that we got all the corn off. Lots of fun with the picker breaking twice and building a new corn crib. But it worked out. This will be part of the pig food for next year. We are still small scale, loaded the crib with a the loader...

    Looking for small combine advise.

First excuse my ignorance. I am new to beans. We recently started planting soybeans for the pigs my dad got and wants to continue to raise. Now he wants to find a way to pick them. I have no clue on what will pick soybeans. I know how to plow, plant, and pick corn but am lost on beans. Is a...

    Corn and Beans are in

We got our corn and beans in last week. Surprisingly little to no breakdowns other than a chain coming off and an opener needed freed up. It was a good day. Soil was a little wet but we got it all in. My wife even helped put some of the corn in. We also got the rest of the pig feed ground and...

    Grinding Pig Feed

This weekend my dad and I ground some food for the pigs he is getting. Just corn and oats but it was fun to use the old machinery to do the job.

    Tree Planting

I ordered about 600 seedlings from the Game Commission to plant around our property and river to try and improve the habitat a little. My question is how far should I plant the arborvitae so to get a good screen in say 5-8 years? Also these are bare root seedlings and I would like to make sure...

    Rebuilding Kohler Engine

I got the engine from dads tiller off and am going to rebuild it. I have never rebuilt one. I believe I need to make sure the head is still straight, rehone the cylinder, then check cylinder dimensions amount other things. But anyone have some good literature to read before I tear in? And anyone...

Found my First post ever @ YT!

Looked back and found the first post I ever made here at YT! If any one knows the guy in Wilpen, PA( Ligonier, New Florence, Bolivar, Fairfield ) who had probably purchased this tractor I'd still love the call and to get that tractor back. Long time ago.

Dads Surprise: Horse Tiller/Brass Gear Update

I am surprising my dad with a new(to him) tiller for Christmas. I knew the brass gear was the problem on a used tiller I bought but got a cool pic of new and old one. Also have had good luck on parts. Couldn't afford the replacement shaft with worm gears so will take my chances. I also didn't...
