    Re:

My G used to be my spraying tractor, and several years ago as I was using it to spray, the intake rockers started squeaking.I decided to drill small holes above the intake rockers[do not remember the bit sizes]and it solved the squeak.I never have seen a negative result from doing that.I only...

    8670

I have a friend who brought me an 8670 to try to solve a transmission problem.Starting in 1st upshifting is fine until the 9th-10th shift,at which time it will stall the engine, unless it is clutched,at which time it will go up to 16th OK.Then downshifting it almost stalls with the 8th-7th...

    3020 balancer

Does anyone know how much bearing clearance the 3020 balancer bearings are to have before they need to be replaced? I had a customer bring one in to the shop today to be checked. It has .007-.008,which seems a bit high, but all the service manual says is to rebuild it when it has too much wear.

Combining soybeans with my 400D and MM HF combine

Tuesday evening and Wednesday I was able to take enough time off work to combine about two acres of soybeans with my 400D and my Minniapolis Moline HF combine. It was a lot of fun,but not something I would like to make a living at, as farmers would have 50-60 years ago.

Got to spend a day spraying with my 400D

I finally got to spend a day spraying 140 acres of corn with my 400D.This was a job my '47 JD GW has done since 1987.I have kept a record of the fuel burn on my GW, and with the lite job of spraying,it's fuel burn was 2.0 gallons per hour. The 400 burned 1.375 per hour. The wide front on the GW...

    Got to plow

I finally got to use the 400D I bought in Nov of 2010.I recently bought a fast hitch 3-16 and got a chance to use it for about an hour, till I got rained out.I had to do radiator recoring, water pump rebuilding, pedistal etc etc, which is the reason for the delay in use.I really enjoyed getting...
