    Carb Dust Seal, Which Direction

Which way is in and which way is out? I was thinking that the open side should face out, and the flat side in, so that the vacuum from inside the carb could pull the seal tight around the shaft.

    Estimated weight of liquid-ballasted tires...

Planning to pick up an AC D19, but concerned that if the tires are filled it might put me over the weight limit for my transport trailer. Any estimates on how much weight ballasted tires might add?

Differences Between NH 268 and NH 68 Balers

Hello everyone, Does anyone know about differences between the NH 268 and NH 68 balers? I know that 68 is the older series, but is there a difference in HP requirement? I would expect the 268 is "improved" in some ways. Any specifics? Thank you in advance.

    Discing with 8N

I've been discing at a bit lower than full throttle. Can I just go to full throttle and pick an appropriate gear? Or is that to much to sustain? Things sound okay though when actively discing with full throttle, long as I back off throttle before putting the clutch in...

    Sector Shaft Reinstallation

Feels like a dumb problem to ask about, but having a lot of trouble getting a sector shaft (item #11) reinstalled in a power steering gear box. Got it lined up and most of the way in (gears were meshed properly) but can't seem to make it move the last couple of inches forward. Been tapping...

How about motor oil in an old transmission?

1949 AC Model G needs transmission/hydraulic oil changed. Manual specifies straight 20W for this system. I know the need to avoid conventional hydraulic and transmission oils because of their Brass-Coroding Factors. Any opinions on using readily available 20W-50 motor oil as substitute?

    Outer Seal Problem (Steering Box)

My parts diagram and shop manual seem to be incomplete. It appears that #14 outside neoprene u-seal (see image) - which I scraped off - was actually one unit with an outer metal casing. The casing/u-seal unit looks like it was hammer fitted into the greater steering gearbox housing. You...
