    HP/RPM requirement for JD 270 disc cutter

    well, its a dead level meadow, as for weights, I got a couple of old chevy small blocks filled with lead in the water jackets and cylinders, will see if I need them on whatever I use. more tractor means faster cutting, less strain on the tractor, so I will have to use the Case 930.

    Thanks RodinNS, for the info. I was planning on using a 61 HP Farmall 460 , PTO (tested @ 50.01 hp/Tractordata). From what you are saying it would be minimum, so I will look at my other tractors.

    hydraulic fill location IH 160 utility tractor???

    I dont remember if it does that, but I will check the next time I use it, I havent had to use it as I did a 70/30 hay cut swap on my place and the guy who baled it (100 bales) moved 4 bales to my sheep pens (I sold him 26 bales at $50 each :) ).

    :lol: Well, we now have a massive herd of 8, 4 in two 50 ft by 50 ft outside pens, I guess if it gets too bad I can plow it, scrape it and load it into the spreader, but it isn't building up at all so far after 6 months :D

    Well, I had to use it, squall or not, this tractor is still very new to me, I think the squall is normal for it, only when loaded with the bale in full tilt (single spike bale, bale rolled offcenter under and increased the load on the spike, have to weld another spike onto it.)

    Sorry I haven't been here awhile, had some internet difficulties, ditched atnt, anyway, Showcrop, I ran across what looks like a John Deere L Series 51 manure spreader for $75, needs wood and some belt? repairs, do you think this one would be sufficient?
