    3020 injection pump removal

    Does anyone know a better way to get the timing marks lined up on a injection pump for removal than cranking the engine over with the starter? I cant even come close to getting them lined up using this method. Thanks

    No offense, but im gonna have to disagree. My grandpas H has a wide front end with tie rods in the back, and it has IH stamped on the front end. His is a 47 model and he bought it 2nd hand in 49, with that front end on it.

    Ok, well here is an update. I adjusted the valves to correct specs, and figured out i wasnt correctly timed. I was 180 out on the magneto, and now it wants to run, but only for 5 or so seconds and then dies. I bought a rebuilt carb, and it has a few leaks, so I am sure that may be the issue.

    No I havent checked the gap on the plugs, I guess I figured they would be pre gapped from a tune up kit. There is fire getting to the plugs, cause when I am trying to start the tractor, it will pop like its wanting to fire, and it may wanna run for a second then die. I figured out my battery...

    well i figured it out, it is the battery, it is charging, and turns over like it is suppose too, so all i have to get passed is my carb issue.

    Ok, just got the new starter (brand new) and when I put it in, the starter motor is spinning, but not spinning the motor. Is this a sign of a weak battery, where it will not spin fast enough to throw out the bendix. I think I am using the right vocabulary.
