    450 transmission gearing

    are the transmission gears the same in a 450 and a 560 or are they different? I know the rear is faster in 450 but wondering if trans gears are the same.

    I would like to offset grind crank on RD 450 engine to pick up a little stroke and also pull sleeves and bore block as big as you can. what rods could you use to keep from buying billet stuff? what bore size is safe and how high does compression need to be? thanks for help.

    310 oliver governor need help

    I'm having trouble with oil pressure wanting to push gov shaft against fork in cover, making it impossible to set and also wearing thrust tube and ear on weights where they contact thrust tube. what is worn or what is wrong? thanks for your help.

    310 head leaks

    Let me clarify that I planned on using radiator sealer. this engine has just been built and it hasn't even been run. As old as they are I find it hard to believe that this is the first time this has happened. I may be missing something here, are you telling me that head gasket is the problem...

    310 head leaks

    310 2 piece head leaks waterto outside when you fill engine with water. I would be suspect that it also leaks to inside also. Is this normal? and would sealer be the best solution to problem. It leaks where 2 pieces join together. thanks for help.

    If you don't already have your piston and sleeves I have a new set of steel sleeves and Ross pistons for 310 to make 4.25 bore. I'll take 925.00 plus shipping for the set. I also have a complete 310 engine I'd sell for 1200.oo it has some freeze damage to block but will be fine to hard block...

    Starter from 24V to 12V

    Tim S is correct tried that on 3020 John deere won't spin fast enough. Just get 12 volt stuff and you will be happy. Might have to put starter solenoid on neutral start safety switch circuit to get it to work correctly depending on what starter you use. good luck.

    Ac made strippers and pickers. They were not the same machine. It sounds like you are looking for a picker. Ther are some of those machines in TN. It may be too far out of your way. If you are interested give me a call at 731 267 2124 and I can direct you to them.

    I'm in the process of putting a 310 in a super 88. I bought tractor without an engine, it had bell housing but no back plate. Number on bell housing is K580A which back plate do I need to match. thanks in advancement for help.

    hoosierhog, you want some power out of that thing, put 450 domed pistons, work your head over and be sure it has gas head. drill out carb jet a bit, put electronic ign. in dist and be sure dist springs are ok and shaft doesn't wobble. You will be able to do anythig you want to at about any speed...

    chuckyou are suggesting that i use laminated weight. Which housing would you use 310 with that crazy linkeage or 77-88 housing and linkeage or a clone of the two. thanks for any info.

    I won't run over 3000 RPM. I guess it would be governor from 77 or 88 with pot metal cover.

    Can old style governor and associated parts be used on 310 engine or will it require the governor that came off of engine. Which set of weights is best to use laminated or lead? Engine will be used as puller . thanks for help.
