    I have a C-153 combine engine that I am putting together and have no info on tune up specs.Can anyone help me with plug type,number and gap also point setting. Thanks for any help.

    towing question

    I have a GMC 1500 with a 5.3 v8 auto trans. Truck is rated 7,500 lbs towing.I tow a 10,000 trailer and a John Deere 50 that weighs 4,500 and 1,000 lbs of weights.Anything over 65 mph the gas milage is not so good but it pulls it no problem.good brakes is a must. go for it but drive safe.

    anyone help me with what years did IH use the 153 engine in the combine? I am putting one in a farmall super C tractor but not sure of the year of the engine to be able to order parts. Thanks for any help.

    anyone help me with the valve settings on a J.D. 50 ? I replaced the head gasket ran it up to temp,retorqued the head and lost the paper with the valve settings. Thanks for any help.

    When they parked it they said everything worked. I assume the Hyd. Pump is live with the engine running.

    A Blue tractor problem

    sounds like a bad ballast resister if it will run with the key in the start position and when you let go to the run position it will shut off like you turned the key off.don't bypass it or it will fry the points.

    anyone know if the axel key slot is straight cut or has a taper to it on a super ? I am putting 9 bolt hubs oh that has a 3/4 "key so I have to have a step key made to accept the 1/2" axel. Thank for any help.

    Cleaning up an oily brake band

    I washed my bands down 3 or 4 times with break clean and after put them in a bucket of oil dry over night. Came out like new. A little sanding and back on.Worked for me.

    I have a 50 that I have lightened up to get in the 4500 class with me (180 lbs) on it.It still has all the hyds.,pto,rocks haft,battery box and seat.My question is how much weight can I loose if I strip everything off the bacb and put a alum. flat back on it.I am runing 16.9x34 rear 9 bolt tins...

    Looking from the back under the rear I noticed that the left bull gear nut has a cover over it. The right side looks like the cover is missing.You can see the nut and seal so the dirt can get into the seal. Should the right side have a cover? If it needs one where can I call to get one.     push-pull switch won't shut tractor off

    Try taking the wire off of the mag and put a test wire on the mag long enough to reach the base of the spark plug. With the tractor running touch the wire to the base of the plug. The tractor should stop. If not check inside the mag for the wire there.Mine was a dirty ground at the push pull...
