Oliver 77 Standard exhaust manifold tap size

Ok so outlet is 2 3/8 for the muffler intake pipe. What size tap is needed to replace the manifold threads ? Machine shop 2 hours away says its a 2 inch tap needed. 2 inch tap for a 2 3/8 hole ? Finding a 2 3/8 tap is like finding an honest politician.

    12 volt conversion

Can anyone tell me, if it makes a difference using a 12V car battery or a 12V deep cycle battery? I have an extra deep cycle, that's why I ask. Thanks in advance, Jeff

    Some on topic and off

Thanks guys, lots of great info. I think I will just pick up the parts instead of a kit. Not as much to it as I first thought, when it comes to chasing the parts. Thanks again, Jeff

    Some on topic and off

Hey guys, I have decided to make my dad's 8N 12volt. It is a 51, side mount. I'm doing this because I have some weaker cylinders (105, 110, 90, 85) and need a new battery anyway. Plus I may want to change my Dearborn snow plow over to a winch system like Farmer Dan's. I do not want to...

Dearborn 19-1 Universal Frame with Snow blade

I have the exact same set up, it is awesome. I would not over think the cables too much. Unless of course you are looking for originality. You will only be able to lift this system just so high, and the cables need some slack or the blade won't touch the ground when you drop it. Guess how I know...

    1950 Thru 1952 Ford 8n tractor

In my area 8ns go for $1000 to $2500. There are some advertised above that, but they have been listed on Craigslist forever.

    Half Tracks

Early next week I am picking up a set of tracks. Looked at them today, but had no trailer and they were much larger than I remembered. So I decided not to try and put them in the back of the truck (have a flat topper on it). They came off an 8n, then had some plating added to the axle brackets...

need some input on a couple tractors

Going to an auction tomorrow where they have a Kubota B2200 and a New Holland 1620 both with loaders. Anyone have any info on these two models? Likes, dislikes, or heads up details. Are they a big enough upgrade from my 9n and 8N to make them worthwhile. Thanks in advance for input.

    Power steering

I thought someone posted a while ago about the Jackson system being $1400. There are aftermarket options, but they are all priced similar. Not really worth it. I posted this guys photos because it was homemade and he refers to all the parts costing a couple hundred dollars. Thought that might...

    Power steering

No issues here Dell. I was looking at another sites homemade tools and implements pages and came across this. I knew some others were looking for ideas recently. My tractors seem to steer fairly easy. I don't know if that's because I am a large guy, or some other reason. But I am always...

    Power steering

I was poking around the inner web looking at various posts from years past. Noticed a guy named Charlie Mcmullen, from CO posted some pics of his homemade power steering set up. Looked like he spent a couple hundred bucks on the system and he said it worked quite well. Anyone have anymore...

    Front End Loader

Seeing you have $3000 to burn, I would agree with the others that you would be better off getting a second bigger loader tractor. I see them around all the time in the $2500 - $3500 range. But I will also be the person that will tell you we did a ton of work around our 14 horse farm with an...
